William (Bill) Frumkin, age 80, of Little Neck, New York, passed on April 28, 2026, making it through one last tax season. He lived long enough to win the game by being the oldest surviving member of his immediate family. Always grateful to not find his name in the obituaries that he regularly read; Bill would be surprised and curious to see his obituary has now been written. More, upon meticulous review, he would likely find one or more errors. This world has lost a truly great man: full of joy, humor, kindness, generosity, spirit, and integrity. Always with a joke, the final punchline, and a sincere and guttural laugh, Bill made everyone around him feel like they were family. To him, the world was a joyful place, ripe for living. He traveled the world and lived each day to the fullest, leaving a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love in his wake. Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Judi Frumkin; his three children, Kari, Stacey, and Leslie and their husbands, Tommy, Jim, and Sean. He beat his four remaining siblings in the long game, Harriet, Paula, Michael, and Laney, and challenges them to live longer than he did. Most importantly to Bill, he is survived by his seven grandchildren, Reah, Aristotle, Alexa, Alex, Emma, Kayla, and Parker, who each delighted and amazed Bill with their stellar intellect, their dry and witty humor, and their commitment to continuing the close and “dysfunctional” family that he created.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sinai Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd., Forest Hills, NY 11375, on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. A Committal Service will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery at 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704 beginning around 3:15 p.m.

Bill’s generosity can continue through you. Bill often supported the American Cancer Society in acknowledgement of family members and friends who lost the fight to Cancer and those who continue the fight each day.
