Mr. Dennis Russell, Jr. of Forest Park passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012. He was 89 years old and a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Dennis retired from Ford Motor Company with 30 years of service. An avid basketball fan, he registered as an official with Georgia High School Basketball in 1954. Dennis later became a supervisor of officials with Georgia College Basketball Officials Association and held a Life Membership with IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials). Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Dennis Russell, Sr., and Elphie Crumley Russell; his wife of 70 years, Sena Russell, and his siblings. Dennis is survived by his son, Richard and his wife Faye; two granddaughters, Robin and her husband Nat McCall, Leighann Russell; one great grandson, Mac McCall, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Dennis will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the Parkway Garden Chapel with Rev. Joe Mauthe officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. Dennis’ family will receive friends at Parkway Garden Chapel on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Parkway Garden Chapel has charge of the funeral services for Mr. Dennis Russell, Jr.
