Joel Arthur Greeson Sr.

Joel A. Greeson Sr., 87 years old of Atlanta GA, passed away at his home on Feb. 20, 2012. Joel retired from General Motors after 37 years of loyal service at the Lakewood Plant in Atlanta GA. He was a World War II Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars awards. Joel will be laid to rest with military honors at 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2012 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA. He is survived by his wife Mildred of 49 1/2 years; one daughter, Tena Greeson-Warren (James Warren) of Locust Grove, GA; four sons, Joe Greeson (Connie) of Clearwater TN, Joel Greeson Jr. of Atlanta GA, Gregory Greeson (Ronnette) of Jonesboro GA and Lester Greeson (Shandja) of Riverdale GA;

19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at Parkway Garden Chapel Funeral Home, 1000 Forest Parkway, Forest Park GA 30297 on Monday, Feb. 27, at 11:30 a.m. Family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
