October 9, 1943 – June 19, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Duggan, who passed away on June 19, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on October 9, 1943, in Buffalo, New York. Dan spent most of his life in Black Creek, where he enjoyed boating abroad the Hungry Hippo and built lifelong friendships. When he was healthy Dan could often be found taking a slow drive around “Mr. Duggan’s Neighbourhood” always ready to stop for a chat and catch up with friends and neighbours.
Dan was the beloved husband of Donna, his high school sweetheart, wife of 61 years and the love of his life. Together they share a lifetime of love, special times and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Denise McBurney (Elvin) and Danielle Biko (Dale), and a proud and loving grandfather to Skye, Danica and Deena, who brought him immense joy. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Sandy and Patrica and sister-in-law Denise and brother-in-law Doug (Jennifer) as well as many extended family members, friends and neighbours whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Emma and Daniel Duggan and son Michael.
Dan dedicated 33 years of service to Bell Canada where he earned the respect of colleagues through his hard work and commitment. Beyond his career, he had a passion for boating and boating education and served as the Commander of the Power Squadron, generously sharing his knowledge and leadership with fellow members.
Those who knew Dan will remember his dedication to family, his kindness, and the steady strength and integrity he brought to every aspect of his life. He took pride in his community, valued lasting friendships and created memories that will be cherished by those that knew him and provided enrichment in his final days. Though he will be greatly missed – his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A special thank you to Marianna and Roj for providing care and comfort with compassion.
A visitation will commence on Thursday June 25, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday June 26, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Snyder at 11:00 A.M. Cremation has taken place.
Donations in Dan’s memory may be made to The Mark Preece House or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
