Born on November 2, 1951, Fred lived a life grounded in hard work, loyalty, and genuine kindness. He was predeceased by his parents, Donalda and Frederick Jacobi, his brother Ed (Molly) Jacobi, and his sisters Margaret (Dan) McColeman and Cathy (Brian) Phillips. He is survived by his sister Donna, his loving niece Jilly, and many cousins, nieces, nephews. Fred was a devoted father to Jason (Lesley) and Mindy (Rob), and a grandfather to Grace, Jordan, Jake, Faith, Kendall, and Hanna, all of whom he was incredibly proud of.
Fred spent many years serving as a Customs Officer before retiring and beginning a second chapter at Niagara National Golf Club, where he worked for over 21 years. Living and working on the course brought him peace and contentment, where he appreciated the beauty of nature, animals, and the simple rhythms of life. He will be dearly missed by the entire team at NNGC, especially Bill and Vince.
To say Fred loved golf would be an understatement. The game was a lifelong passion, and more importantly, a source of enduring friendship. He shared over 50 years of weekly rounds with a close-knit group who became like family—Stan S, Peter R, Sandy E, Stan M, Jim B, Joe T, Tom P, Steve M, Scott B, and their late friend, Jim T—all of whom will miss him deeply.
Anyone who knew Fred knew he was a man you could count on. He was respected, well-liked, and admired for his steady presence, quiet strength, and genuinely kind nature. He was simply, a good man.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Benner Funeral Services. Following cremation, a private service will be held at a later date in accordance with his wishes.
