Janet passed away, with her loving family by her side, on Monday, June 22, 2026, following a brief illness. Janet is the daughter of the late N. Burr and Nellie Kellam. Janet is the second oldest of 6 children - and is survived by her two remaining sisters, as well as 13 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many loving and caring friends.
Janet was a strong and independent woman who loved her family, loved the great outdoors and was an incredible advocate for all animals. Janet retired from Roswell Cancer Institute over 30 years ago, and spent much of her time since retirement, fighting to keep green space green and protecting indigenous birds and animals in the Fort Erie Area.
Friends are invited to join in a nature walk to celebrate Janet’s life at The Heartland Nature Preserve, 8215 Heartland Forest Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario Sunday August 2, 2026 at 9:00am. Her ashes will be interred at St. Paul’s Anglican Church later on in the day.
