September 20, 1976 - August 18th, 2026
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Winmill, after his fierce fight against pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep on August 18th, surrounded by his loving family.
It is hard to put into words the immense loss Rob leaves behind. Everyone who knew him knew what a truly incredible person he was. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, son-in-law, friend, and honorary dad.
Rob grew up in England, where he enjoyed playing football (soccer) and “was good enough to go professional.” He met his wife, Natalie, at 16, and they spent 29 wonderful years happily married. He had two daughters, Courtney and Faith, and proudly earned the title of the ultimate girl dad. He finally got his son when Cory, his son-in-law, joined the family. Later in life, he took on his most favourite role of all: Grandad to Conrad and Crew.
Rob and Natalie embarked on their adventure to Canada in 2005, where he gained even more family and friends whom he loved so much. Through sacrifice and strength, Rob built a beautiful life for his wife and daughters.
He had many jobs over the years but eventually found his place selling cars. Rob had many talents, including drawing, renovations, and being good at almost any sport he tried. He loved spending time with his friends, son, and father-in-law playing golf.
Rob made a lasting impact on everyone he met through his generosity, friendship, kindness, and wonderful sense of humour. He was a truly special person who brought laughter, love, and warmth to the lives of so many.
Please join us to celebrate Rob on Monday, September 7th, 2026, at Rockway Golf Course (Rockway Vineyards), 3290 Ninth Street in St. Catharines - where he played his best-ever game - to share your favourite stories and memories. The celebration will begin at 2pm, and light refreshments will be served. Please wear your favourite golf attire or bright colours.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rob’s memory to support patient care and research. Contributions can be made directly online via the Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society Donation Page or through the Craig’s Cause CanadaHelps Profile. Online condolences may be made at bennerfuneralservices.ca
