Sara Gill found peace early in the morning on Sunday, April 5th after an incredibly courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with CNS lymphoma. She was surrounded by close family and friends throughout her final days.
Sara was loving, feisty, and fiercely loyal to those she held dear. Though she kept her circle small in recent years, her impact was vast; she touched lives with a quiet generosity that many will never forget.
Prior to her illness, Sara enjoyed a distinguished career as the Senior Director of Facilities for Solutions 2 Go, the company where she spent the bulk of her professional life. She took great pride in her work and was highly respected by her colleagues.
Above all, Sara was defined by her love for her son, Maxwell. He was her greatest joy and her proudest achievement. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and a love that knows no bounds.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Susan; her loving sister, Jessica; her sister-in-law: Ernestina, her beloved son, Maxwell, and his father, Joe. She will also be dearly missed by her large extended family, her wonderful friends, as well as her fur baby and nephew; Bowie and Rio.
The family wishes to thank the medical teams at St. Mike’s and Juravinski who supported her through her long fight as well as the staff and volunteers at McNally House Hospice, where Sara chose to spend her final days. We couldn’t have gotten through such a difficult time without all the angels who work and volunteer there. Finally an extremely heartfelt thank you to Sara’s cousin Katie Foster Morin, who has always been more of a sister than a cousin. We will never forget the impact her support made in those final weeks.
A private family service will be held at Benner Funeral Services, and a celebration of Sara’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to McNally House Hospice in her memory.
