

With great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Argio passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Atikokan General Hospital.
He was born on March 4, 1934 in Gavasso Nuovo, Italy to the late Olympia and Regina Tuis. He had worked in Switzerland prior to immigrating to Canada in 1953. He had worked for many years at the Caland Mines and was also employed for a number of years with Great Lake Forest Products. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 145 in Atikokan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and was known for his beautiful garden. Most of all though he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Argio was united in marriage on August 25, 1979 with Marion Wickstrom, who survives. Also surviving are his step-daughters, Connie Wilson (Peter Jones) of Dryden, Tracy Parker-Nelson (Sunne) of Thunder Bay, Denise Parker and her partner Kathleen of Fort Frances, sisters, Marguerite (John) Giacomello of Kelowna, BC, and Anna Canaderan of Italy, brothers-in-law Doug (Vicki) Wickstrom of International Falls, Minnesota, Roger (Christine) Wickstrom of Devlin, Ontario, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and godson Dario Vein of Marathon, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his parents, Olympia and Regina Tuis, brothers-in-law Romano Canaderan and Wayne Wickstrom, mother-in-law Joy Wickstrom and father-in-law Allan Wickstrom.
A celebration of Argio’s life was held December 11 at the Atikokan Fellowship Church, with Pastor Brad Ricci officiating.
Honourary pallbearers were Connie Wilson, Peter Jones, Tracy Parker-Nelson, Sunne Nelson, Denise Parker and Kathleen Lawrence.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Renal Clinic at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
