Jean (Cuthbertson) Hoffman

13 January, 1925 – 5 January, 2022
Jean Lucille Hoffman, age 96, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2022 at her home in Rainycrest.

Jean was born on January 13, 1925 to Eugene and Grace Cyr. She grew up on the family farm in Crozier with her siblings; sisters Inez Brecken, Mildred Stevenson, Erma Burnett and brother Mervyn (Bud) Cyr, who predeceased her. Jean was the last of the Cyr family.

She married Fraser Cuthbertson in November 1945 and together they welcomed four children; Marilyn, Catherine, James and Douglas. Fraser tragically predeceased her in a boating accident in 1958.

Jean enjoyed gardening, ceramics, picking berries and spending time at the lake. She was a past president and life member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, of which she was very proud. She also enjoyed working at the Voyageur Trading Post.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family; daughter Marilyn (Larry) McCoy; sons Jim (Kathy) Cuthbertson and Doug (Sue Moreau) Cuthbertson.

Jean is also survived by sister-in-law Mabel Cyr; grandchildren Melanie (Bob) Mathieson, Corey (Kim) McCoy, Lauren McCoy, Amanda Telfer (John Corey), Skye (Andrew) McKay, Bryant (Lauren) Telfer, Jay Cuthbertson, Ria (Bill Payne) Cuthbertson, Katie (Jordan) Stus, Tanner Cuthbertson, Shaunna (Ken) MacQuarrie and Megan (Allan) Moriarty; great grandchildren Rachael, Courtney, Kinsley, Robert, Rowan, Fletcher, Ciel, Noah, Reid, Everett, Campbell, Teagan, Brielle, Chloe, Jessie, Benjamin and Domenic; great great grandchildren Bentley, Weston and Olivia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; siblings; husband Fraser; second husband Ivor Hoffman; infant granddaughter Stacey McCoy; her in-laws Ed and Kate Cuthbertson; daughter Cathy Wilson; sister-in-law Elsie Dupuis and daughter-in-law Connie Cuthbertson.

Cremation has taken place and interment will take place when the family can gather.

In memoriam donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nugent and the caring staff at Rainycrest for caring for Jean for many years.

Rest in peace Mom. We love you forever and always.
