Jean was born on September 1, 1928 on the family farm in Pattulo Township to Jay and Florence Schram. She was united in marriage to Roy Legarie on June 2, 1950. She worked for 5 years in the telephone office before moving to LaVerendrye Hospital, where she worked for over 20 years. After she retired she enjoyed to travel and bowl. She was also an active volunteer at Rainycrest for 26 years. Jean was a caregiver at heart, she would do anything for her family and truly lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a gentle soul who was a silver cross mother for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy on December 27, 2015; parents Jay and Florence Schram; son Gordon; siblings Harold, Lawrence (Grace), Sydney (Violet), Thelma (Art) and Hilda; in laws Don, Leonard, Francis, Jerry, Gladys and Bill (Beaver).
Jean leaves behind her children Wayne of Fort Frances, Arlye (Robert) Taylor of Androsson, AB and Tim (Cheryl) Legarie of Fort Frances; grandchildren Cindy, Michelle, Gordon, Jeremy, Jessica, Heather, Sarah, Destin, Brandon, R.J. and Keith; great grandchildren Casey, Catherine, Ashley, Zachary, Alexandra, Aryes, Petrichor, Arley and Jessie; sisters Frances Bahniuk and Irene (Stan) Olson; sister-in-law Madeline Martin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 7 until 8 pm at Green Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 pm
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2 pm at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers will be Robert Taylor, Jerry Bolen, Michelle Legarie, Brandon Legarie, Destin Legarie and Roy Noga.
