It is with profound sorrow that the family of Jennifer Lynn Yvonne Mainville announce her passing on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Jennifer was born on June 28, 1986 in Fort Frances, ON. She grew up in Couchiching First Nation and Fort Frances. After graduating high school she lived in Calgary, Lac La Croix and then Thunder Bay before returning to her community. She studied and graduated from the Indigenous Wellness and Addictions Prevention Program with her brother in 2008. Jen was very proud of this accomplishment. She was very close with her Gramma Connie and two Gramma Bessies spending countless hours learning life lessons while keeping them company. She understood that learning from elders was a sign of respect and always approached them with humility.
Jen was our guiding light through many difficult times always reaching out when people needed her the most. She was there when friends or family were homeless and needed shelter, or when people needed clothing and food. She was always willing to give more than she had. Jennifer's love, humor, thoughtfulness and beauty will forever be cherished and live on through her three beautiful daughters.
Jennifer is survived by her daughters Summer, Taryn and Taleah, parents Peggy and Rick Atatise, Elmer Mainville Jr., Joyce Ottertail (Dan); brothers Jason Mainville (Jasmine), and his children Kailyn, Anthony, Shayden and Jace, Walter Mainville (Michelle) and their children Avery and Aliah, Bobby Atatise (Gary), Stephanie Boshey (Doug) and children Haleigh and Max, Clayton Ottertail (Lynn) and his children Shania and Rainee and Vince Ottertail and his son Jaelin; stepson Trent Morrisseau; aunts and uncles Anita (Norm) Copenace, Tony Mainville, Gloria Manitowabi (Kevin), Donna Mainville, Betty Ann Mainville, Gwen (David) Miller, Trevor Jordan (DeeAnn); grandmother Bessie Mainville and numerous cousins.
