Joan Anderson

Joan was born on December 16, 1945 in Fort Frances, On to Glenn and Isabel Roste. She grew up in Fort Frances, attending St. Mary’s School and graduating from the Fort Frances High School. As a young woman she started working at the Boise Mill office. During this time she met Les Anderson and they were married December 2, 1967. In 1977 they purchased the family bakery, the Dough n’ Deli. They worked side by side until his passing in 2005. Joan ran the business for several more years before retiring in 2011. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed helping at teas and bazaars. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She seldom missed a hockey game or skating practice.

She will be greatly missed by her children Todd (Jennifer) Anderson and Joleigh (Trevor) McKinnon; grandchildren Samantha McKinnon, Nate Anderson and Leslie Anderson. She also leaves behind her brothers Danny and Barry Roste and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents; husband Les; brother Wayne and sister-in-law Jackie.

Cremation has taken place and due to COVID 19 Restrictions a memorial service will be delayed until family and friends can gather.
