

Louis was born on April 5, 1929 at Couchiching First Nation to the late Madeline and Daniel Mainville Sr. He had worked at the J.A. Mathieu Sawmill for a number of years and later worked for the MNR as a Fire Boss. He was an avid outdoorsman who guided on Rainy Lake and new it well. He loved to drive his John Deere tractor down to the store daily, he loved hockey and enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and going to the Fort Frances Laker’s games. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Royal Canadian Army with the Blackwatch Regiment. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
His life partner, Donalda Mainville, passed away in 2008
Louis is survived by his children, Colleen (Gilbert) Perreault, Mike (Debra) Mainville, Leisha (Darren) Mainville, Timothy (Kip) Mainville, Virgina Mainville (Elizabeth McConnell), Sara Mainville (Tracy Morningstar), his siblings Blanche Crowe, Danny Mainville, Lester Mainville, Marcella Mainville, Ron Mainville and Stewart Mainville.
Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Victor DeGagne officiating.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening, October 6, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home with Vigil Prayers being held at 6:00 p.m.
Cremation will take place followed by a private family interment at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers will be his siblings, Blanche Crowe, Danny Mainville, Lester Mainville, Marcella Mainville, Ron Mainville and Stewart Mainville.
The active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Clinton Perreault, Jason Perreault, Brent Perreault, Ian Perreault, Alex Bruyere, Dylan Mainville, Andrew Easton and Mike Mainville.
