Marcus David James, 14 of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation born December 29, 2003 has sadly departed us on December 10, 2018. He was a grade 9 student at Seven Generations Education Institute. He loved playing video games, hanging out with his little friends in Mitaanjigamiing FN. He was a traditional dancer and liked dancing at local pow wows. He had a good sense of humour, enjoyed making people laugh, telling jokes and being silly. He enjoyed spending time at home with the family. When he was younger, he also enjoyed swimming.
Marcus is survived by his parents, Paul Henderson and Amanda Snowball; his brothers Vincent and Xander and sister Seraphine. He is also survived by grandparents, Cecilia Henderson and Allan Calder; Shirley Snowball. He had many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Marcus was predeceased by his grandfathers; David Henderson and James Smith.
Active pallbearers are his uncles: Adrian Snowball, Cory Snowball, Derrick Cochrane, James E. Henderson, Chris Henderson, Alex Cochrane and Mike Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers are: Robert Yerxa, Edward Kabatay, Ed Snowball, Allan Calder, and Joe Cochrane.
Traditional wake will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 conducted by Elder Gilbert Smith beginning at 5:00 pm at the Mitaanjigamiing First Nation gymnasium. Funeral will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 beginning at 9:00 am. Marcus will be laid to rest in the Mitaanjigamiing First Nation burial site.
