Marjorie was born April 14, 1927 to William and Mae Davidson in Winnipeg,Manitoba where she lived for most of her school years, except for the short adventure of life in Wabigoon, Ontario. She married her brother's school chum,Gordon McTaggart, on March 21, 1947 and shortly after moved to Fort Frances, which quickly became her home.
She was the mother to five children Jo-Anne (David) Haines, Nancy (Murray) McLeod, Midge McTaggart, Kathi (Steve) Gagne and Allan (Pam) McTaggart who admired her resilience and strength. She met every life experience and challenge with courage and determination.
Her 11 grandchildren basked in her love and welcomed any opportunity to spend time in her home. Grandma's house on Frog Creek was where cousins became close friends. The hugs of 19 great grandchildren,who called her "Ggma," always made her light up.
She is also survived by her sister Doreen Tester and Doreen's daughters and their families, and her sister-in-law Pat Davidson and her family and her McTaggart brothers-in-law Jack and Ross and their families.
She was predeceased by her father William Davidson, her mother Mae Davidson, brothers Edward "Ted" and Cecil, brother-in-law Robert Tester, her father-in-law Roy McTaggart, mother-in-law Elsie McTaggart and her brother-in-law Hugh McTaggart.
Marjorie was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, the auxiliary at Riverside Health Care and other volunteer groups. She was an avid bridge player who played her final game on the Wednesday before her death.
Funeral and thanksgiving for her life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, Rev. Myrna Major and Rev. Jim Kirkpatrick officiating. Private family interment will take place later in the afternoon
