Melvin was born on June 23, 1964 in Atikokan, Ontario to George and Rose Snowball. Melvin was a hardworking person who never hesitated to help out his family and neighbours. He loved to pick wild rice with his family and was a traditional dancer when he was young.
He leaves behind his partner Cynthia Smith; children Riley Snowball-Ray, Rose Smith-Snowball and Sylvia Smith Snowball; siblings Josephine Arvelin, Shirley Snowball (Sheldon Whitecrow) and Edwin (Darlene) Snowball; sister in law Rosie Snowball and brother in law John Arvelin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Melvin was predeceased by his parents George and Rose; brothers; Allan, Donald (Janet Carlson), Mel and Kelvin Snowball and sister Janet Snowball.
A traditional wake will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Naicatchewenin First Nation Gymnasium.
A traditional funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Naicatchewenin First Nation Gymnasium with Elder Gilbert Smith
The pallbearers will be Melvin’s family and friends.
