Way she o bine seek It is with great sadness that the family of Way she o bine seek (Norma Peters) announces her passing on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, ON. She was born on February 7, 1958 in Fort Frances, ON to Lawrence Peters and Agnes Kabatay. She lived with her family until the age of 5 and then attended Residential school. She graduated from Fort Frances High School. From High School she attended Ryerson University and George Brown University; graduating from both with M.S.W. She suffered a terrible injury as a young woman and was unable to work but she never gave up learning. She considered herself an eclectic first nation artisan, who loved to bead, knit and crochet. She enjoyed teaching others to craft and traveling to visit with family and friends. Norma will be greatly missed by her son Ronald Edward Dell; mother Agnes Kabatay; siblings Ron Peters, Darlene Adams, Mary Lou Adams, Diane Adams (Peter Bruyere), Brian Adams and Casey Adams as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Guy Dell; father Lawrence Peters; step father Norman Peters; grandparents Peter and Aggie Kabatay; great grandparents John and Elizabeth Kabatay and aunts and uncles Bertha, George, Edith, Emma, Ed, Sam Mary, Elsie, Ray, Tony, Annie and Ben. A traditional funeral ceremony was held on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Stanjikoming First Nation with Elder Al Hunter officiating. Interment took place in Stanjikoming First Nation. The pallbearers were Ed Morrison, Joe Cochrane, William Morrison, Brian Wayash Jr., Alex Cochrane and Brad Fyfe. The honourary pallbearers were Norma’s family and friends.
