He was born on July 26, 1949 in Fort Frances, ON to Vene and Margaret Dolph. He grew up in Fort Frances, attending the local schools before working at various businesses. He worked in Mines in Thompson. MB and Manitowadge before going to at Atikokan in 1970 to work at the Saw Mill. He returned to Fort Frances in 1990, working for North Air and Green Funeral Home for many years. Health issues led Ray to an early retirement in 2015.
Ray was blessed with a family of his own when he married Shirley on July 18, 1992. The arrival of their son, Lyle, made his life complete. He was proud of both of them and everything they accomplished. Ray was well-loved throughout the community with his outgoing and positive personality. He loved his friends and the time shared with them.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Shirley; son Lyle and wife Danica; brothers Albert (Fran), Earl (Ann) and Darryl (Melinda) Dolph; sisters Marlene Dolph, Dorothy Dolph (Randy), and Janice (Allan) Gushulak; sister-in-law Brenda Dolph; special cousin Frank (Dode) DeBenedet as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his parents; brother Allan; stepson Bryan.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON with Pastor Brian Keffer officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be the Fort Frances Lions.
