Rhoda was born on April 24, 1975 to Albert and Barbara Wilson-Hawk. She was raised in Big Grassy First Nation, spending her childhood with her grandparents Robert Archie and Rose Marie Copenace. Rhoda was a residential school survivor. She loved attending Pow Wows, listening to the drums and watching the dancers, she was particularly fond of the traditional dancers. She had been working as an education assistant and had a special place in her heart for her “kids”. Rhoda loved to listen to music, dance and spend time with her family.
She leaves behind her husband Myron; children Aaliyah, Kendall and Emily Medicine; mother Barbara; siblings Robin, Albert, Jeff (LeeAnna), Robert and Dailen; grandfather Robert Archie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rhoda was predeceased by her father Albert; grandmother Rose Marie Copenace; aunt Sheila Wilson and baby Myron Gerald Medicine Jr.
A traditional wake will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at noon at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Centre.
A traditional funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Centre. Interment will take place in Big Grassy First Nation.
The pallbearers will be Shawn Medicine, John Copenace, Fred Copenace, Darryl Medicine, Conan Medicine and Terrence Medicine.
