Stanley Sloboda

Stanley Sloboda, age 86, of Fort Frances, ON passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Rainycrest Long Term Care.

Stanley was born on December 5, 1924 in Atikokan, ON to Bill and Anna Sloboda. He left home at age 16, moving to Thunder Bay working various jobs before joining the Canadian Air Force taking a station in British Columbia. Following his discharge he moved to Terrace Bay working at Kimberly Clark. Following his retirement he came to Fort Frances to be closer to his family, Stanley loved to travel and every winter took a cruise or a trip.

He leaves behind his sisters Mary and husband Victor Lindholm of Fort Frances and Anne and husband Everett Ramsey of International Falls and their families.

Stanley was predeceased by his parents Bill and Anna; sisters Nellie and husband Nick Leikam and Jessica and husband Mike Budeslic.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON. Reverend Barbara Miller will officiate.

Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Thunder Bay, ON on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

The pallbearers will be some of his nieces and nephew; Curtis Holborn, Rick Lindholm, Dorian Lindholm, Jason Cunningham, Anna Cunningham, Shelly Taiko and Shirley Holborn.
