It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Edward Albright on Dec 3, 2018 at LaVerendrye Hospital in Fort Frances. He passed peacefully with the love of his life by his side.
He was born on September 18, 1950 to Dana and Doreen (Neddo) Albright in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent all of his life in Fort Frances, working at the local Paper Mill until retirement. In his younger years he loved taking the CN train to Rainy River to spend time with family and friends, especially his Grandpa and Gramma Neddo, enjoying outdoor activities and trips to the Sand Hills.
On November 8, 1969, he married his true love, Diane King. They spent 49 amazing years together. Shortly thereafter they started their family and welcomed two boys, Jay and Bob. Bill was so proud of his boys and their accomplishments. He loved teaching them, was their biggest fan and supporter in so many things; hockey, racing and truly treasured his time spent hunting and fishing with them. He delighted in being a grandfather to his three grandsons and the time he spent with them were some of his most cherished moments.
Bill had such a passion for life; his earlier years were spent tuning on his classic cars, stockcar racing and he later mastered woodworking, carpentry, home renos… he simply was a jack of all trades. Upon his retirement he loved traveling south with Diane to warmer climates for much deserved rest and relaxation and to spend time with their close friends and family.
Bill was not only a wonderful husband and father, he was an exceptional and extremely loyal friend. He would do anything for anyone without question or complaints and always with a smile on his face. You could always count on him to offer a helping hand. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or figure out. He was extremely talented and there was no task too big. He gave generously and never expected anything in return, his character truly resembled his selfless nature, humble spirit and giving heart.
Bill is survived by his wife Diane, sons Jay (Kristi) and Bob (Paula). Grandsons, Jacob, Ben and Wyatt. Sister Beverly Johnson, brothers in law; Dale King (Gail), Terry King (Lori), Don Johnson (Jody), sisters in law; Janice Mundle (Cliff), Tammy Fulford (Harold), and his many nephews and nieces.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Doreen (Neddo) and Dana Albright, brothers in law, Dennis and Richard King.
A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (upstairs) on Friday, Dec 7/18 at 11 a.m.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to: Tamarack House, 984 Oliver Road Medical Centre, Suite 501, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7B7C7.
