Alix was born on March 4, 1944 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Emmanuel Bléus and Hélène Phillpotts. He held a Bachelor degree in Economics and Political Science from Hautes Etudes Internationales, a Bachelor degree in Foreign Languages from Queens College, and a Masters degree in Romance Languages from Brooklyn College. He had a successful career in International Banking networking in New York, Miami, Germany, Latin America, and Caribbean countries.
He married Maud Marie Boisson on April 18, 1968. The couple had two sons born in New York: Alix Jr. (1970) and Gary † (1974). The family relocated to South Florida in 1974 and lived a very fulfilling life.
Alix was an accomplished photographer and a jazz enthusiast who became skilled at playing his saxophone, even releasing a CD (Ha! Ha! Ha!) with the assistance of his friend, Michel Préssoir, Recording Engineer. He was an active and dedicated member of the Miami Jazz Cooperative and of the Pembroke Pines Photography Club.
He combined his passion for travel and photography by taking breathtaking photos all over the world. He travelled extensively with Maud, his partner in crime, throughout the world. They had the privilege of visiting 49 countries in addition to numerous parts of the United States of America. He was a passionate individual who cherished his friends and nurtured his family.
Alix is survived by his wife Maud, son Alix Jr., brothers Ernst, Emmanuel, Alfred, Reynold, grandchildren Cristina, Damien, Gary, Jasmin, Dominic, eleven Boisson nieces, two Bléus nieces, four Boisson nephews, three Bléus nephews, and his supportive brothers and sisters in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents Emmanuel and Hélène Bléus, his sister, Marie-Hélène Bléus Jean-Francois, and his son, Gary.
