Barbara E. Brownell Kirby, born in 1941, was one of five children born to Catherine and Dean Brownell. She grew up alongside her siblings Diane (Joseph), John (Karen), Mary Beth (Fred), and Patricia (Phil), forming the strong family foundation that would shape the rest of her life.
In 1964, Barbara married the love of her life, Raymond Kirby, and together they began their family in South Florida. Barbara and Raymond were blessed with four children: John, Lori (John), Jeffrey, and Mary (Debbie). Barbara devoted her life to her family and raised her children to be best friends first and foremost, creating an unbreakable bond that remains a lasting part of her legacy. She instilled a strong work ethic in her children and taught them to grow into responsible, independent adults.
Barbara deeply loved her two grandchildren, Zak and Katy, and took great pride in being a caring and devoted Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Known for her warm spirit and generous heart, Barbara was affectionately called the “Kool-Aid Mom” of the neighborhood, always welcoming children and friends into her home. She had the heart of a lion and a love for family that touched everyone who knew her.
Barbara passed away on April 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her strength, kindness, and dedication to those she loved will be remembered and cherished forever.
