Alan and Rebecca,

Thank you for inviting us to share in the truly beautiful and comforting Funeral Mass held for Brian this morning. 

It was indeed a beautiful tribute for a beautiful man; beautiful to see your love, your faith, and your strength triumphant in the face of such a devastating loss; an honor to have heard Rebecca’s beautiful, eloquent, poignant, and deeply moving eulogy.

Rebecca, we never had the pleasure of spending time with you & Brian but Alan has been a significant & treasured part of our lives for almost 40 years. As Hank’s boss, then work colleague, and mentor always. As a true friend (and a source of grand "craic" at all Hank’s late parents’ social gatherings). And our time with Pat was always a joy.

Alan, we have such fond memories of spending time with you & Pat in Bronxville, Block Island, and Lyme. 
 
Our hearts break contemplating your loss, the loss of the son of two such remarkable people, and Rebecca’s loss, the loss of a beloved husband and best friend.  We hope it is some comfort, though, that in Rebecca, you have the daughter you & Pat never had, and Rebecca, that in Alan you have a second father.

Brian, Pat, and you, Alan and Rebecca, are in our thoughts and prayers.

My heart breaks for Alan and Rebecca, Brian was so upbeat and had such a great camaraderie with people.  My husband and I did work for the family and that being said we were treated like family...when Pat passed away we were invited to her memorial service.  No words, I just think back to the many, MANY smiles I had with Brian and his bright blue eyes that were soooo unique!  I will fondly remember him as a very bright light with a glass very half full, and that is a great thing!  All our best from Sconset, The Davidson Family XOXO
