Daniel J. Leibmann, 100 years old of Plantation, found the gate Heaven on June 12, 2024 while looking for his dog in a rainstorm. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII (D-Day +2) as a mechanic in the Glider Division at St. Lo and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon return home he joined the New York City Fire Department where he served 23 years, retiring from Engine Company 274 in Flushing, N.Y.
Dan lived life with honor, dedication, compassion and a spirit of doing for others. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol and is survived by his daughters Denise Jones (Oliver) and Doreen Fagiano (David) along with two grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) and Danielle, two great-grandchildren (Bradley Mae and Deacon) and his dog Brandi. Cremation and a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
