My big brother Dave.
I think of all the times growing up and the special things you did for me, like getting me my first Barbie. There are so many memories of spending family time at various lakes around Colorado and Nebraska. There was an age difference between us and at times my nephews were like my brothers, and you were a second dad to me.  As we got older almost every memory of you is of your camera in your hand and a big ole grin on your face.  As your little sister I was a little brat to you, I’m truly sorry and I hope you knew how much I loved you even when we were at odds. You will always hold a very special place in my heart and even though we grew apart – you will forever be missed.  I love you my big brother!

My 1st boat ride with Grandpa Klena 🛥️⚓️💕

To my Grandpa Klena , 
We talked on video calls on Sundays. 
Sometimes you were tired or your body hurt but you always took time to listen to me and ask how my week was.  You told me to work hard in school and trust in myself and push myself to be the best I can be. 
You shared memories, photos and funny stories about the naughty adventures you got up to as a boy, with Grandma Alice & with your boys. 
You shared your love of photography by buying me my 1st camera. You showed me pictures of you and Grandma diving in the ocean in Florida, you liked fast boats and motorbikes & camping and off roading in Colorado. You loved to use your hands to make things and sent me my very own airplane and engraved “Tilly our Sunshine” and a little fox on it just to make it extra special. 
You loved me for being me 💕and I loved you for being  You 💕
I love and miss you Grandpa Klena,

      Dear David, 
       If I had to pick a Brother you would have been it.  Luckily you,
Alice and the boys came with Dennis.
      The many changes in all our lives over the years with the many phone calls, the understanding,-saying go ahead that would be a Good thing was  just the necessary push for me to move forward at an important time.  
        Sharing creative projects & ways they were done. you taught me to take pictures and to look at them. How to hold a gun.

Dave, Alice, Bill,  David, and families

     My brother, best friend, teacher, and the one who has had my back my whole life.   I find it hard to put into words all that you mean to me and have done for me.  We have talked numerous times of the things we did together and things we probably would have done had we not lived so many miles apart.  I know in our later years I found it funny how much we thought alike.  I have missed our phone conversations and know I always will.  I love and miss you.

We were sorry to hear about Dave. Alice we are sending prayers to you.   We enjoyed all his beautiful photos he posted. Even though we had not been  in touch for a while, he was in our thoughts.

Dave and Alice were our neighbors for approximately 30 years. We lived across the canal from them and frequently exchanged greetings in the morning or afternoon or whenever. On one occasion, we had the privilege of having rum runners on their boat while they’ were in Key Largo.    I have to say that memory sticks with me to this very day as they were one of the best rum runners I’ve had, on the back of the boat with great company.

Dave always had great Boat advice. My wife and I had bought a similar boat to theirs, and I was constantly having issues with the boat. 9 times out of 10, I could describe the problem to Dave, he would ponder it for a little bit and then give me the exact answer I needed to correct the problem. He was always willing to help and had great advice. I’ll miss those discussions we had across the canal, and the solutions that he came up with.   Not to mention the rum runners!   I’d gladly have those problems again, if I knew he’d be around.

We’ll miss you, and hope you’re enjoying the great beyond.!!

Condolence to the Klena family. Dave and I worked together at IBM for many years, both at the Main Site and later at SEDAB. Dave was always top notch in all his assignments and a huge benefit to our dept. I will sure miss our frequent talks about our corvettes and photography. Dave was one of a kind and the best person to have in your corner and he will surely be missed by all who knew him and especially by myself.

Dave was a true friend. We knew him and Alice from IBM days in Boulder Colorado . Both families moved to Pompano Beach in 1982. We shared many memories boating and fishing in the Florida waters and in the Keys. Dave was a true friend and will be missed. Prayers for Alice, Bill and David.
