David was born on Jan. 27, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio to Mary Alice and the late John C. Zittle. At a young age, David moved to Pittsburgh, PA, the hometown of his youth where he became a number 1 Steeler fan and a member of Steeler Nation.
David graduated from the University of Kentucky and moved to south Florida in 1986 where he began his career with Sheraton, which eventually became Starwood Hotels and Resorts. At the time of his death, David was a Director of Finance for St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. He was a great leader, mentor, and cared deeply for his team.
David married the love of his life, Maria (Zitti) Zittle and had two children, Aniceto and Savannah. He is also survived by his sister Karen Hoder (Chris), brothers Jay Zittle (Cindi) and Fr. Mark Zittle, O. Carm., sister Jean Koszycki (Craig) and sisters in law Liz Zitti (Peter) and Lucia Zitti. David also leaves several nieces and nephews. David was a loving family man who was devoted to his wife and children. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish and school community. David was a loyal and caring friend to many and will be remembered for his witty sense of humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great church followed by a memorial reception at Sheraton Suites Plantation.
Donations may be made to St. Gregory the Great Development Office for an endowment fund in memory of David in lieu of flowers.
