At an early age Mother Lee was taken from Manchester to live in Kingston with hr Aunt lurline where she attended school and completed her education and also attended her aunts church of the Apostolic faith. By the time she was 16, she gave herself to the lord and got saved. Soon after, she met Alfred Lee who began pursuing her and wanted to marry this beautiful young lady. She informed him that he had to get saved if he wanted to talk to her. He joined the church and got saved and the rest is history. She married Alfred Lee in Kingston, Jamaica in 1937. They had four children, one of whom died in infancy. The family later moved to Brooklyn, NY where they served the Lord at Bibleway Church of Christ. While living in Brooklyn, Mother Lee opened her home to many, helping them get on their feet. She also hosted many visitors from out-of-state who attended church events and conventions; cooking and making them as comfortable as possible.
In 1978 after Alfred Lee retired, they both relocated to Fort Lauderdale Florida where they attended Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ. The couple later opened their home for Sunday services until the church was able to find a permanent place of worship. It was during this time that Alfred Lee passed away.
Mother Lee led a humble life, she was caring, patient, compassionate, loving and always smiling. She was blessed with having great wisdom and insight, many would seek her advice and some just wanted to hear her kind words of encouragement. She stayed with us on earth for 104 ½ years until the lord was ready for her. He called her home on Thursday, November 28, 2019, Thanksgiving Day. She left quietly and peacefully at 9am. Mother Lee is now resting cozily by Alfred’s side in tranquility and peace.
SHE WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY ALL.
