My Brother, we met by happenstance with you clowning my weird and unusual Marine Corps haircut in 1979. We became brothers in short and loving order which was cemented by each of us becoming godparents of each other’s children. 
There’s a profound saying that “ great friends are the family that we choose “ we both chose to share our lives as brothers which will never end. You have left us with the knowledge that I will always be here for Marlene, Sharifa and the kids as a shoulder to lean and cry on as well as being always available to them 🙏🏾💕 Sleep in eternal peace my dear brother 🙏🏾💕

I had never been to Los Angeles, California and I asked if you could help. You never hesitated you responded come Tony you are family. He picked me up at the airport and I stayed at his place. We toured LA .

Daddy, I still don’t know how to accept a world that exists without you in it. Losing you feels like losing a part of my heart, my soul, my support, and my safety.

You were more than my father. You were my protector, my teacher, my strength, and one of the greatest blessings in my life. Anytime I needed you or needed anything, somehow you always figured it out. Just knowing you were here made life feel lighter.

I’m longing for one more conversation, one more “good morning,” one more “we’ll talk,” one more hug, one more kiss, one more loud shout of “Fat Jaw” — just one more moment to tell you how much you truly meant to me and to know that you understood how deeply loved you were every single day.

I keep replaying memories in my mind, trying to relive so many moments — listening to your stories, learning about family, calling to ask, “Daddy, how do I make this?” or just riding in the car with you while you played all your old tunes, giving me that crazy look while bobbing your head.

I appreciate you so much for every sacrifice you made, every lesson you gave, every life you impacted, and every piece of yourself you poured into the people you loved. I’ve always been so proud to say you were my daddy — your one and only. A true legend and hero to many, and knowing that gives me peace, understanding, and strength to carry on.

No matter where life takes me, my heart will carry your name, your voice, your laughter, everything you taught me, and the way you loved me and as you’d call them “the two terrorists” your grand daughters in your own special way every single day for the rest of my life.

No words could ever fully explain the love I have for you or the tremendous pain that comes with having to say goodbye. But your spirit and your memory will live on forever. Until we meet again.
