January 9, 1947 – July 25, 2025
Gail Sandra Pasquill Marshall passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 25, 2025, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her beloved family after a long and courageous battle with an extended illness.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on January 9, 1947, Gail graduated from New Bedford High School in 1964. She was raised in New Bedford and later settled in nearby Padanaram, Massachusetts, where she and her husband raised their two daughters. Gail dedicated the first 15 years of her adult life to being a stay-at-home mother—a role she considered her life’s most meaningful and cherished work.
When her children were grown, Gail entered the workforce, beginning in retail at The Star Store in New Bedford. She later moved to Plantation, Florida, where she became the store manager of Victoria’s Secret, a position she held for 17 years. Gail thrived in her career and formed many lasting friendships along the way.
After her time in Massachusetts and Florida, Gail lived in Tryon, North Carolina—a place she truly loved. There, she found joy in the beauty of nature, the friendships she made, and the many “furry visitors” who stopped by, especially a groundhog affectionately named Willy. She was especially enchanted by her private patch of bittersweet, which she tended to with quiet reverence and delight.
Gail had a deep love for her neighbors, friends, and everyone she encountered. She had an innate ability to connect with people and a passion for exploring all that life had to offer. Even in the face of illness, she remained strong, resilient, and full of kindness and love.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Tyce Marshall; their two daughters, Candace Marshall of Hollywood, Florida, and her partner Tim Hayes; and Amy Marshall of Asheville, North Carolina, with her partner Autumn Stubblefield and children Jack, Ella, and Uriah.
Gail is also survived by her granddaughter Amanda Marshall Hall, her husband Roderick Hall, and their children—Gail’s great-grandchildren—Leonidas Tyce Marshall and Athen Roderick, affectionately known as “Moonpie.”
She leaves behind her extended family in Delaware, including nieces Joann, Judy, and Gail; nephew Brad; and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Evelyn Pasquill, and her beloved sister, Marilyn.
A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale, followed by a small, intimate reception at Sea Watch.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The TRUE Fund. Contributions can be sent directly to All Saints Episcopal Church with “Gail Marshall – TRUE FUND” noted in the memo line.
It can be a great comfort to a grieving person or family to hear that others thought highly of their loved one, too.
