Hawk was born on April 5, 1972, in New Haven, CT, to Maureen and Neil Huber. He grew up in Duxbury, MA, and moved with his family to South Florida in 1986. Hawk married Tracey “Sparrow” Burke on July 4, 2016, in Fort Lauderdale. He obtained his license from Contractors Institute and worked as a General Contractor at Advanced Roofing for 15 years.
A distinguished U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Hawk served as a Lance Corporal during the Mogadishu/Somali Civil War, holding roles as an Infantry Unit Leader and Religious Ministry Specialist.
A renegade with a love for the open road, Hawk was fueled by the rumble of motorcycles, the loyalty of dogs, and the soul of classic rock. Whether cruising on his hog with his beloved Sparrow and the club, rocking out at outdoor concerts, or rallying around a “wicked yuge fi-yah” with a cold beer in hand, Hawk lived life unapologetically. His presence was fiercely bold yet warm and giving—truly unforgettable, just like the life he led.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sparrow, and his parents, Maureen and Neil. He is survived by his “baby sistah” Joy and her wife Monica, and goddaughter Arielena; his older siblings, Keith and his wife Laurie, and Craig and his wife Kathy; his nephew Tyler and grandnephew Jonathan; several uncles and cousins; and a legion of treasured brothers, friends, coworkers, and crew members. He also leaves behind Dio, the adored dog he shared with Sparrow.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Davie, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to WoundedWarriorProject.org in the name of Hawk and Sparrow Huber.
