Iain “Coach G” Gascoigne, 59, gained his wings on May 27, 2021. Born in Kingston, Jamaica on September 12, 1961 to the late Ariel Jones. Iain attended Miami Carol City Senior High School where he exceeded his education expectations. He then went to Florida International University where he got his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Business Management and later received his Master’s in Instructional Technology, Instrumentation Technology/Technician from Grand Canyon University.
Besides his passion for education, coaching students in track and field, cooking, and table tennis all brought him true happiness and motivation. Then came along his granddaughter, Riley Gascoigne, which cemented his joy and happiness for life, as their bond was unbreakable. He loved being a grandfather and was phenomenal at it.
The quote by an unknown author best sums up Iain`s life journey. Life is but a stopping place. A pause in what’s to be, a resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, we all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, far greater than we know. For some the journey’s quicker, for some the journey’s slow and when the journey finally ends, we’ll claim a great reward, and find an everlasting peace, together with the lord.
Iain will be treasured everyday by his second moms, Veda Gascoigne and Pernella Cooper, the late Linda Gascoigne and Windsor Gascoigne, his brothers Paul Gascoigne and Jason Jones, his two children Hailey and Ryan Gascoigne, his only grandchild Riley Gascoigne, his cousin Rosemarie Constantine, his track and field students, his family in Jamaica, his table tennis family, coaches near and far. As well as the rest of the aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends who are too numerous to name, who loved him dearly and will continue to treasure the memories of him.
Iain will be truly missed, but his memories will continue to live on.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnsouth.com for the Gascoigne family.
