Aunt Ivy was very dear to our family. My earliest memory is visiting 36 Silver Road on Christmas Day on the way to Ensom City.  Aunt Ivy would be sure to have our cake and sorrel ready. 

She always made sure everyone was taken care of. My husband, Damon, and Michael Tulloch remember when she covered them while they slept at one of the Oxford celebrations because it was so cold.

We also remember how she took care of us on our many visits to Florida over the years.

We stand in solemn gratitude for the life and legacy of a woman whose quiet strength shaped generations.
As a teacher in Jamaica’s public schools, she did not merely instruct; she cultivated minds, nurtured dignity, and sowed seeds of sovereign wisdom.
Her classroom was a sanctuary of clarity, her presence a lighthouse in the fog of youth.
Mrs Grey’s life was a ceremonial scroll, each year a verse, each student a witness. She taught not only curriculum, but character.
Her voice, gentle yet firm, echoed with ancestral cadence and civic devotion. She was the Pedagogue of Quiet Grace and Embrace.
As she transitions beyond the veil, we do not say goodbye. We say: May her legacy rise like morning incense.
May her teachings ripple through time, and may her memory be a canopy of comfort for all who mourn.

My name is Hildreth Stoddart Brown a past student of Mrs Gray my teacher at Seward primary school in Jamaica. Her mentorship and tutoring skills had impacted my life allowing me to be successful woman  that I am today,
Her quiet, gentle, loving but very firm demeanor as my teacher was unforgettable. 
My deepest condolences to her daughter Michelle, her son in law and other family members. Keep the faith your mom Mrs. Gray ran well. Her legacy lives on.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your mom she was a special person and I will always remember the moments we shared especially the time we'd sit together while she ate east Indian mangoes savoring each bit. Those small beautiful moments will always stay with me. My heart goes out to all of you.

Ivy Gray was someone truly special to me — not only someone I loved deeply, but someone I had the honor of caring for. As her caregiver, I witnessed her strength, grace, and gentle spirit every single day. Even through her challenges, Ivy’s warmth and kindness never faded.

She especially loved when her daughter, husband, and granddaughter Abby came to visit. Her face would light up seeing her grandson and great-grandsons, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She always looked forward to time with her sisters and brothers — their visits truly brightened her days. Ivy also missed her son who lives in Canada and often spoke about him with love and pride. She would smile whenever she remembered cooking her famous fried dumplings for him and his son.

Caring for Ivy was a blessing I will forever treasure. She taught me patience, compassion, and the true meaning of love. Though she’s no longer here, her memory and her love continue to live within all of us. Thank you, Ivy, for allowing me to be part of your journey. I’ll carry your light, your laughter, and your love with me always.

I want to express how much I love and will miss my Aunt Ivy. She and I shared a special bond, especially over our love of sports. Some of my fondest memories are of us talking about games and matches, and I’ll always cherish how engaging and insightful our conversations were. Aunt Ivy had a wonderful and kind spirit, and her commitment to our family was truly unmatched. She was incredibly smart and knowledgeable, and I learned so much from her. What many may not know is that Aunt Ivy was the one who named me Francine, and I am so grateful to her for that. Her presence in my life was a true gift, and I will always remember her with love and appreciation.

My dear sister Ivy meant the world to me, and I will miss her greatly. She was incredibly kind, loving, and devoted to her family. Her memory will remain in my heart forever.

We are deeply saddened at the passing of a beloved teacher.  She taught Paul in first  grade at the Seward Primary school. 
She taught me at Bethel Baptist church. She touched so many lives with her faith, kindness and unwavering commitment to guiding others in God's Word.  Her love for teaching and nurturing young hearts in Christ will never be forgotten. She planted seeds of faith that will continue to grow for generations.  
Whenever we had an opportunity, it was always a joy and a pleasure for Paul and myself to visit with her at her home in Florida.  
Although she was retired,  through her active benevolent spirit, she in turn would vist with Paul's parents in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 
Please accept our heartfelt condolences and know that we are praying for comfort, peace and strength for the family during this difficult time.  May God's love surround you and bring you healing and may her memories continue to warm your heart's.

Please accept my condolence at the passing of my beloved 6th grade teacher Mrs. Gray. Because of her, I developed a love for reading and Poetry. I recall that she used to have summer school at her home, and my sister Marcia and I used to attend. One year my Mom could not afford to pay the summer tuition, and Mrs. Gray told my Mother, "Still send them." My Mother never forgot her kindness. For her, it wasn't about the money, but about instilling the love of knowledge to students who were eager to learn. Though your final days never allowed for faces to be familiar, there was still love in your heart.
Though your environment was not what you created with your ever useful hands, there was a smile on your face
Though your thoughts were uncertain and distorted, you still brought joy.

Aunt Ivy was a wonderful Aunt who was a woman of excellence. She was an awesome educator and many still call her name here in Jamaica.
Being the eldest of all my Roomes Aunts, she was very close to my father and I remember with warmth  her final interactions with my Dad in Texas and how they were so close. Now they are together again in the arms of Jesus.
We will miss you Aunt Ivy.

Aunt Ivy always had a kind word when we meet. A woman of admirable dignity.  To me,  she was a woman of purpose, very intentional  and focused. Once when she visited with us, I watched her lovingly administer medication to Uncle Lannie. He responded with such gratitude to his caring wife.  Our condolences to our cousins, and may the Lord Jesus bless you all with comfort and peace. Rest well Aunty Ivy.

Aunt Ivy was and is a special aunt. I have 3 distinct memories of her.
1. Whenever I visited her, she would always play 'last lick' with me when I was leaving.
2. When I passed my Common Entrance, Aunt Ivy was the first to call and congratulate me ( at 6 in the morning).
3. When I was deploying to Iraq in 2004, Aunt Ivy 
gave me a devotional to use while I was there. I still have it to this day.
She most definitely will be missed.

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Gray’s  family ,I would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest sympathies to Donovan , Michelle and their families.
Aunty Ivy , a disciplinarian was loved and appreciated . ”Gone “ but will not be forgotten.
