Jacquelle Floraine Ceinor was born on January 2, 1996. Slightly over three months after her birth, on April 17, 1996, she was diagnosed with the sickle cell anemia disease; a disease which she has endured with uncommon courage, steadfast faith, and unmatched grace. Her illness, coupled with an indescribable ever-present pain, did not keep her from the schoolhouse. Her strong faith in God has sustained her every step of the way; her enduring determination and exemplary drive for success have paid off. On May 30, 2014, she graduated with high honors from Pompano Beach High despite her frequent and prolonged hospitalizations.
Upon graduation, Jacquelle was accepted at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) as a result of her academic excellence, and later on got admitted to the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. Unfortunately, due to an accelerated deterioration of her health, she was not able -in her desires to give back to the health community- to pursue her dreams of becoming a nurse; a love and passion which she has developed for the nursing career while under the constant care of nurses at the Broward Health Medical Center. Jacquelle epitomizes all the extraordinary inner qualities that make one unique. She was relentlessly determined not to let her health conditions limit her ability to dream her dreams and hope for a divine healing; enduring hope, which defies all odds. She never conceded. "I will not let sickle cell defeat me", she once said.
After a difficult 2 consecutive years of constant struggles, she recently spent over a month in the hospital from November 18, 2015 - January 7, 2016 where she finally succumbed, 5 days after her twentieth birthday, to the inhumane and detrimental effects of the disease. Until the very end, Jacquelle remained true to herself by not giving in. On the contrary, her internal organs gave up on her by shutting down one after another, causing her to draw her last breath, as her mom, dad, brother, and other close family members looked on. She spent her last days in the hospital, surrounded by the unfailing love of her immediate family. She has gone to be with her heavenly father, leaving behind to mourn those who love and cherish her dearly, family members and friends alike. She will be forever in our hearts until we meet her again.
