Born on August 4, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Carlo and Lilia Zabadlija she lived a life filled with love, family, and a dedication to her passions. She grew up with two brothers Bobby and Lee Zabadlija and went to school at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. Lu was the beloved wife of Norman Bassion for over 50 years. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Jackie Echarte, married to Felipe Echarte Jr., and David Bassion, married to Evey Bassion. Lulu, as her grandchildren fondly called her, was a proud and loving grandmother. Her six grandchildren -Becca, Tripp, Elle, Sebastian, Charlie, and Benji were her pride and joy and brought her endless happiness.
A woman of many talents, Lu had a deep love for singing and cooking, often sharing her gifts with those around her. She found inspiration in watching cooking shows and delighted in preparing meals for family and friends. For 40 years, Lu served with the School Board of Broward County, leaving a lasting impact through her commitment and care. She also loved animals, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lu is preceded in death by her father Carlo, mother Lilia and brother Lee.
