Marcella Mucha Mogel, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away at home at the age of 96 on Thursday, March 3, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Marcella was born in Wausau, Wisconsin to John L. Mucha and Minnie Marciniak on April 19, 1925.
Marcella enlisted in the United States Army achieving the rank of Sergeant and was a proud recipient of a World War II Victory Medal. While stationed at Valley Forge Military Hospital in Pennsylvania, she met and later married the love of her life Leon Edward Mogel, also a proud U. S. Army Veteran. They married on September 11, 1948, and were extremely blessed to celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary before his passing in 2019.
After relocating the family to Miami, FL in 1961, Marcella was the BEST “stay-at-home mom” to her children and their friends. Later in years, she assisted her husband in his business ventures including The Mogel Company Realty in North Miami, FL. Her most treasured job however was that of a deeply devoted wife and loving mother… she cherished her family and always put them first.
Marcella is survived and will be greatly missed by her beloved daughters Diane Mogel (Joe Wick) of Pembroke Pines, FL and Donna Mogel Demirgian of Miami, FL, and her cherished son, Darryl (Patricia) Mogel of Clermont, FL; her loving sisters Jan Glennon, Yvonne Hutchens and Phyllis Kaczmarski; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her Stepmother, Genevieve (Kozlowski) Mucha, and her beloved husband, Marcella who was the eldest of eight siblings, is preceded in death by her brothers Robert Mucha, Thomas Mucha and Roger Mucha and her loving sister, Charlotte Gutknecht.
The Mogel family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our family physician for over 50 years and friends, Dr. Reynolds Knorr, and his wife Maridonna for their unconditional support and comfort provided to the entire family. In addition, we greatly appreciate the compassion and patience of Marcella’s two wonderful caregivers - Hillory Miller and Latoya Selon - who lovingly took care of our mother (and father) for the past four years.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens South at 2401 Davie Road, Davie, Florida. Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM followed by a committal service with full military honors. A repass will be held right after.
