Today, we gather to celebrate and honor the life of Nilda Zamora, a remarkable woman who graced this world with her presence from April 19, 1936, until June 14, 2025, when she peacefully passed away at the age of 89. Her journey through life was one of remarkable resilience and unwavering faith. Nilda's life story is one of courage and conviction.
Nilda was born in Havana, Cuba and was a devoted daughter to Carmelo Valdes and Candida Natalia Posada and was the 4th of seven children. Driven by the dream of a brighter future and to help her family progress, she migrated to the United States in 1958 where she lived in Hoboken, NJ with her three older siblings. It was here that she found love and companionship, becoming a cherished wife and later a devoted mother. She later relocated to South Florida in 1996 where she lived until her passing.
Nilda was a woman of profound faith and unyielding spirit, whose life was a testament to her deep devotion to Jehovah. On February 8, 1976, she took a significant step in her spiritual journey by being baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she served as a Special Pioneer with a zeal that touched everyone she encountered. Nilda had an extraordinary gift for teaching others about the Bible, particularly children, who found joy and wisdom in her teachings. Her strength and loyalty to her God, Jehovah, were evident in everything she did. Her passion for sharing spiritual knowledge was matched only by her love for her family.
Nilda possessed a contagious smile and an unwavering positive attitude. Her grace and endurance in the face of a dibilatating disease at the age of 40 was truly inspiring. A steadfast and unmovable spirit, she remained loyal to her God, Jehovah to the end of her days. She truly was a woman of great conviction, spiritual zeal, and loving passion. Her joyfulness and happiness were infectious, and she exuded wisdom, patience, and strength.
She was a spectacular selfless mother as her children fondly remember, and the bedrock of her family, a source of love and strength. She is survived by her beloved children Nilda Francisco, Ramon Antonio Zamora, and Annmarie Zamora, her grandchildren Andrew, Tommy, Nicky, Lil Ray and great grandchild Lucas. They remember her not only as a loving mother but as a guiding light whose influence shaped their lives in profound ways.
We find comfort in some of Nilda's favorite scriptures, which provided her with strength and solace throughout her life. James 4:8 reminds us to "Draw close to God and he will draw close to you." Philippians 4:6, 7 encourages us to not be anxious but to find peace in prayer, while Proverbs 3:5, 6 urges us to "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart."
Nilda's life was a beautiful testament to her faith, love, and joy. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Nilda will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
