Born on September 10, 1944 in Romania to parents Marcel and Caroline Priffer.. He was inspired by their love and had a strong relationship with his parents all his life and had a profound admiration and love for them both. He authored a book, On the Edge of the Precipice, in 2021, which recalls many stories related to his family throughout World War 2. Taking after his father, he fell into the business of furniture manufacturing and importing goods such as fans and lights - he was a successful and known local furniture salesman. He prided himself on the relationships he built with his clients over the years, and spent many hours driving between West Palm Beach and Miami to ensure his clients were always taken care of.
Ovid was truly a man of the world, and had a flair of storytelling and literature. He traveled to many different parts of the world. Among many favorite locations, he would often share stories of his time in Greece and the Mediterranean - the warmth of the sunshine on his skin, the sweetest tasting tomatoes, and daily fun and adventures. A lover of philosophy and conversation, there was no aspect of life that Ovid didn’t want to discuss, from existentialism, to politics, to deep and profound love.
A Celebration of Life Services for Ovid Thomas Priffer will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33317. January 29, 2026, at 10:00 am.
