

Raymond Joseph Cadet, better known as “Papi”, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He represented compassion, love, and loyalty. Respected throughout his community, he impacted the lives of many, including family, friends, and neighbors. Papi’s admirable journey began on January 14th, 1935 in the town of Aquin, Haiti. Born to Edner Cadet and Annie Numa, he was the second oldest of six siblings. Papi’s passion and career was in the field of mechanics. He was a professional mechanic and continued to service cars even after his retirement.
Raymond met his first and only love, Francine Villa, in a small town in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Raymond won Francine’s heart with his romantic love letters. Married for over 50 years, Raymond and Francine were fully devoted to each other. With great love they birth six girls, Myrlande, Nancy, Marjorie, Regine, Martine, and Sandra.
As a father, his love for his children was easily shown through his efforts and strives for a successful future. He raised his daughters to be strong, independent, and God fearing. In preparation for a better future, Papi immigrated to the United States. With the great support of his best friends, the late Lucie and Francois Guilluame, Papi was able to work hard to bring his wife and children by his side. As a role model, he exemplified how a man should treat a woman, with respect, love, and honor.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, Nikisha, Steven, Andy, Alexandra, Olivia, Winston Jr., Kayla, Seth, Blake, and Aiden, and great grandchildren Shanece, Jay, and Nathaniel. The love his grandchildren had for him was special and the time spent was priceless.
Papi had a good soul and was always willing to help others in time of need. In doing so, he formed strong bonds with his neighbors and members of the Haitian Missionary Baptist Church.
Raymond Joseph Cadet legacy will live on through his family as they continue to honor and cherish his life.
