Tom was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1946 but, was raised in Bayshore, Long Island, NY from the age of 7. He was always into sports and played football throughout high school. After graduating high school he signed up for the Navy. Tom decided that he was not going to struggle through Boot Camp with his football weight, so he made the decision to lose 100 pounds before he entered into the Navy, and followed through. He was that guy. When he made a decision, that was it. No turning back. Tom served in the Navy during the Vietnam era and traveled many interesting countries. After he was honorably discharged he went to work in a warehouse where he eventually became a tractor trailer driver for that company. He worked for them until he retired and moved to Florida. He was a good guy with a big heart, who had friends for life. He was the smartest guy in the room, knew the answer to every Jeopardy question, and anything football related. He had a big personality and was a very funny guy. He was generous to a fault. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, and if he was down to his last dollar he’d split it with you.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn, of 50 years, daughter, Tracy, son in law Mitch, granddaughter, Samantha, grandson in law, Daniel, sister Jean, a niece, nephew, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marion, and his son Ronald.
Tom fought hard for the last 3 years after a diagnosis of cancer. He fought that hard fight until he had no fight left due to many other cancer related diagnoses. We will miss him every day. Our hearts are broken.
