Thomas Edward Thomsen

Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was 88 years old. He is survived by his four children, sons Thomas Eric, Dale Christian, (Boca Raton) Todd Richards(Ft. Lauderdale), and daughter, Ingrid Linn (Omaha, NE), 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grand children.

Born August 2, 1926, in Pittsburg, PA, son of Thomas Vagn and Margaret Mae Thomsen, Captains in the Salvation Army. He was a graduate from High School and Business College at Albany, NY, and attended Cornell University, DePaul University, Miami University, graduating from the Weaver School of Real Estate. He spent 15 years as a hotel accountant working at Lake Mohawnk Mountain House, the Boca Raton Club and included working in hotels in Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami Beach, Chicago, and Kansas City. He was a Realtor member of the Fort Lauderdale Area Association and the Institute of Real Estate Management, a CPM, GRI, and FCAM. He served as an adjunct professor for the University of Florida. He was a Free & Accepted Master Mason for 60 years. He has been a resident of South Florida since 1950 and retired in Boca Raton in 2004.

A lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church he served as a member of the Chancel Choir, Men’s Fellowship, Sunday School teacher and on the Boy Scout Committee as well as a Stephen Minister.

Funeral services held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Garden- South,2401 Davie Road, Wednesday, August 6, 2014, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Internment to be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lien of flowers, it has been requested that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton or the Salvation Army of Fort Lauderdale.
