

Born in September, 1940, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Charles grew up on the south side of Bethlehem. He attended Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, Bethlehem Catholic High School, and Moravian College.
Charles served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1963, and was stationed in South Carolina, Florida, and Alaska. He worked as an information systems auditor for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, IU International, and Computer Aid before retiring to Florida.
Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne Lee Donches (née Transue); daughter Krista Glenn (Neal), grandchildren Megan and Rachel; son Charles J. Donches III (Kristen), grandchildren Maxwell and Maddalena. He is also survived by siblings Helen Donches, Stephen Donches (Sally), Margaret Mary Donches, and Diane Amore (Gregg), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Donches and his parents, Charles J. Donches, Sr. and Helen Donches.
Golf was his lifelong passion, and he enjoyed many rounds with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10am on September 26 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Fort Myers, followed by burial in the church’s Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org).
