

Darwin was born on November 19, 1923 in Spurgeon, Indiana to Earl and Ella Davis. He married Virginia Corn, a high school classmate after returning from military service in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Darwin and Virginia moved to Ft Myers, FL in the fall of 1959 with their three boys. Darwin was employed by the local telephone company until his retirement in 1984, while Virginia served as the secretary of Riverside Baptist Church until her retirement. Both were very active members of the church until they entered the Kingdom of God. Darwin is survived by his three children, Ronald Earl Davis (Sue Zellers), James Allen Davis (Sue) and Wesley Scott Davis (Elaine), nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Darwin was preceded in death by his wife Virginia. Darwin will be remembered for his sense of humor and his devotion to his family, church and the Lord.
A visitation will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Ft Myers, FL 33913. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. with internment immediately after the service at Lee Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and later, at a celebration of his life at Riverside Baptist Church in Ft Myers, Fl. at 4:30 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Darwin Davis be made to the Riverside Baptist Church Mission Fund, 8660 Daniels Parkway, Ft.
