The days are passing by since we heard of Dave's passing away but it is his life that we will remember and the hours of precious friendship that will be forever etched in our memory. We are so grateful for the chance to know you Dave.

Dave, you will be missed by so many friends, family, colleagues and classmates. I remember meeting when we were in Little 
League. And there were so many future CCC students and athletes on the baseball field during family picnics at Taylor Park.

Speaking of CCC, it was such a small but precious Catholic high school. Everyone was so close. Besides being great at sports, you were always the steady guy with a great attitude and sly humor. Of course you met Marie there, and from the beginning it seemed you were a couple meant to be.  And as time would tell you were.

Our adult lives took us in different directions. It would have been great build on our childhood friendship. Fortunately Linda and I got to see you and Marie at reunions. We wish it could have been more.

Like birth, death is a part of life. But it is difficult for the heart to accept the loss of loved ones.

Our community has lost a great gentleman. Marie and family, we send our condolences.

"And the greatest of these is love".

Dave loved the Lord, his wife, family and communities well and transparently.  He knew their value, and he sacrificed for and celebrated with that love.  Dave and Marie loved each other for decades and are a testament to how growing closer to God brings you closer to your spouse. Dave loved his children and the miracles each of them brought to his life. Grandchildren too! And his friends, whom he made better people with his gentle, grace-filled, but definite advice. And his communities received his agape love and sense of excellence.

I played softball and flag football with Dave at Florida State.  Our softball team won the FSU Intramural Championship.  I still have our team picture on the wall.  I'm looking at it right now.  We were a rough looking group to say the least!  I always thought that Dave looked like Butch Cassidy. 

Dave was a fine teammate,  a really good guy,  and an honest and reliable man.  I will pray for him and his family.

It was with great sadness that Geri and I heard of Dave’s passing. Although we didn’t cross paths very often after graduating from CCC in 1973, I always considered him a friend and fondly remember the baseball trip we took to Keywest in the summer of 1972. I remember with great love the whole Talsness family. My prayer is with Marie, David’s wife, and his family. May your deep faith and the prayer and support of your family and friends sustain you at this time of great loss.

I am fortunate enough to go back with Dave more than 30 years, since we first met playing on the same softball team in Hong Kong. We called him Fly because his glove was like a Venus flytrap, anything near him was caught. Dave is without question one of the finest human beings I have ever met. All the many memories of time spent together have one thing in common: joy. We had so many laughs and good times I don't even know where to start. But it was when talking about his family that David's face would truly light up.

Through the good times and some not so good times both Dave and Marie were always there in generosity, compassion and friendship. For Marie and family, know that all of Dave's friends are thinking of you right now. We all know you don't replace a Dave Talsness, you just glow from within over the warm memories. He made everyone he met a better person just by knowing him. Till we meet again Fly, your eternal friend Tim Noonan.

Our best memories of Hong Kong came from spending time with Dave and Marie.  Dave was the best of the best. Generous, funny, kind, and smart. One of the most genuine people we have ever met, He valued his family above all else. We lived at the  Manhattan at the same time and were graciously included into their circle. What a blessing.  We have had a friendship for more than 30 years.  Catching up from time to time.   Sadly, we believed we still had plenty of time to reconnect and make more memories.
