Dear Asencio family...U Dougie was a very special man to his older brother Mario..U Doug named me after Mario..I have so many memories of him sharing family history of Cuba and Jamaica..Just a storyteller of all of his adventures and children..Funny. God fearing and a sixth sense and zest for life..I remembet U Doug when I was a child and A.Rita and Claire and Franny..I spoke to them when Flo and Mario died..U. Doug came to Inverness FL whenever I was there..as he was Lehigh Acres...and he told me lots of stories...about Gladys and his father Ernesto.. And him And Mario growing up in Jamaica..He had several passports and Wanted me to go to Cuba with him! In any case in more recent days..U. Dougie came to Inverness. And gave Mario his last blessings..U Dougie loved Mario and Flo..He came to Long Island 2013 to see his nieces and nephews..OMG 80 yrs old full of life..He had to see Mario's and Flo's tombstone..He adored my parents..and we had a great time!  And he was most proud of all of his kids and his youngest Joseph.. I have never met Ms. Hyacinth. Please accept our condolences..So Uncle Dougie will be in heaven with Gladys Ernesto Daphne Olga Roy and Mario. Drinking Rum and dancing! Last words Mario said to me...keep the family together!



I remember spending time with uncle Douglas, aunt Rita, and my cousins in Red Hills as a child.   I'm glad I got to speak to him a year ago and being surprised at how young he sounded on the phone. He was always a ball of energy and a force to be reckoned with.  RIP uncle Douglas. Now it's time to hang with uncle Mario, uncle Roy, my mom, and aunt Daphne. 

my condolences to the family. MR doug was a funny and happy guy .  I am a neighbor across the side street Mr Doug would come over and talk about growing up in Jamacia and Cuba to my godparents when they visited cause they were also from both countries the stories he would tell and have us all laughing and then reminiscing.  May he rest peacefully 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

To The Asencio family , I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Douggie . Even though we didn't live close , my Dad Mario would talk of his brother Douggie. I finally got to meet him as an adult after my dads passing in 2012. He certainly was a great funny story telling man . He told me a lot about the days in Jamaica, boy did they know how to have a fun time. He came to NY and visited with us , so glad to have spent time with him . He was the last of the siblings very sad to know they are all gone but happy they are reunited . May he RIP . Prayers and condolences to all . Love ❤️ Angela
