Edgar was born in Caba Rojo, Puerto Rico. He and his family moved to the United States when he was five years old. He grew up in Bronx, NY.
Edgar was a proud Navy Veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired in 1992 from the NYPD as a Police Sergeant. He took much pride in serving his country. Edgar had many hobbies after retirement, but most notably he loved working on his everchanging Zen Garden and time spent outdoors. Papa’s family was his pride and joy. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for all of them. Papa was the very definition of love who lived a life of purpose, but also simplicity.
Edgar is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Cohen) Rosas of 45 years, daughters Bonnie Mason, Lisa (Daniel) Smith, son Nevin (Cassie) Rosas, brother Pedro “Willie” (Lucy) Rosas, several nieces and nephews, cousins, his 12 grandchildren Theresa, Ashley, Michael, Christopher, Tito, Taylor, Brady, David, Joseph, Chloe, Layla, Lucas and great grandson, Connor.
Edgar is preceded in death by his loving parents, Hermintaneo and Nereida (Guzman) Rosas and Uncle Dixon Guzman.
