

At the age of 14, he joined the Dutch Resistance during the Nazi occupation. He later joined the Dutch Army and fought in the Indonesian War. When Ernie immigrated to the United States, he joined the U.S. Air Force and volunteered to serve in Korea.
Following his military service he became a civil servant for the U.S. Army and became a member of the atomic bomb research unit in Nevada. In his position as a civil servant he traveled extensively in such places as Germany, Panama, Vietnam and elsewhere in the United States. Ernie was member of the Ft. Monmouth Ski Club., the VFW and an official Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Boer, his daughters, Phaedra Garibaldi, Ariana DeLucia and three grandchildren, Alexis DeLucia , Nicholas DeLucia and Nicole Garibaldi.
Memorial services will be held at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00A.M.
