Ibrahim Ali Milhem Aboulhosn, age 102, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. He was born on January 3, 1924, in Lebanon, and lived a long, full life marked by devotion to family, service to others, intellectual curiosity, and quiet generosity.
Ibrahim was the beloved son of the late Sheikh Ali Milhem Aboulhosn and Maytha Aboulhosn. He was predeceased by his brothers Sleiman, Dawood, Yusef, Salman, and Abd-el-Salam, and his sisters Wasila, Nabila, and Najla.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, May Hussein Aboulhosn, with whom he recently celebrated their anniversary; his brother Hani Ali Aboulhosn; his children Sara Aboulhosn (Jeffre), Nethal “Nick” (Valerie) Hosn, and Nabeel (Susie) Aboulhosn; and his cherished grandchildren Gavin (Aleks), Brooklyn, Masyn, and Benjamin Aboulhosn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the world.
A man of remarkable intellect and discipline, Ibrahim earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida. Among his many professional achievements, he supervised the development of tire compounds for the first Space Shuttle, contributing to one of the most significant scientific endeavors in history. He was also accepted to Johns Hopkins Medical School, a testament to his academic excellence.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ibrahim was deeply committed to his community. He volunteered with Junior Achievement, served as a translator, and was always willing to help others bridge language and cultural divides. A true builder in every sense of the word, he personally general-contracted the construction of his home in Bath, Ohio, where he was a longtime resident before later residing in Fort Myers, Florida.
Ibrahim found great joy and peace in nature. He lovingly planted and tended 229 rose bushes, surrounded his home with 500 Austrian pine trees, and maintained a thriving vegetable garden, spending countless hours watering, trimming, and cultivating the land he loved. His stewardship of his land reflected who he was - thoughtful, meticulous and quietly devoted.
Above all, Ibrahim was a dedicated husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man of integrity and humility. His wisdom, work ethic, kindness, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
