John Michael Petyo

John retired from the City of Fort Myers, Florida where he worked as a Utility Accounting Analyst. Prior to moving to Florida from New Jersey in 1998 from a long career at Robert Wood Johnson University he worked in the Information Systems Department as a Sr. Financial Project Leader.

He was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Florida.

John is survived by his wife Barbara (Klose) Petyo of 37 years; mother Mary (Orak) Petyo; and sister RoseMarie (Petyo) and Douglas Baker of Murphy, NC; many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father John Petyo, Sr.; sister Mary Ann (Petyo) Rycyk; and baby brother Michael Petyo.

John was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was privileged to help fill the father role to his nephews Sergio and Gregory Arredondo.

John loved to travel and spend time in his mountain cabin. He worried about everyone and always ready to lend a helping hand and give advice.

John treasured everyone and was blessed by his family and friends. John’s message to everyone is: To Love One Another.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913 on March 5th from 11:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
